Octo Insurance Brokers has reinforced its reputation in property insurance across the UK, by expanding its team with the introduction of structural and building warranty specialist, Michael McGuire.

Michael’s addition to the fast-growing team of insurance experts, as a Senior Relationship Manager, also helps increase the geographical footprint of the brokerage to the North East.  Michael is based in County Durham, although serving the needs of property developers and contractors nationwide when it comes to warranties.

He brings over a decade of expertise in structural and building warranties – a product also known as latent defects insurance – to the Octo team.  This provides a perfect dovetailing of expertise with that of Octo Insurance Broker’s, Richard Davis.  Richard has over 40 years’ experience in property and other key insurance markets and is a specialist in the area of surety bonds and other construction-sector guarantees. 

Michael enjoys excellent relationships in the insurer market and is able to place client risks with both A-rated and other insurers, according to their requirement and what best meets their needs.  He also has an impressive contact book of leading surveyors – including those regularly used by insurers underwriting warranties insurance business.  With all of this experience under his belt, Michael will add even more value to the property insurance proposition at Octo.
